About
Ella is a multidisciplinary artist exploring ideas of human existence and experience. She contemplates ideas such as matter, materiality, time, duration, and spatiality, while working intuitively with textile and colour. Ella graduated from Newcastle University in June 2019 with a BA honours degree in Fine Art. She also studied at RMIT, Melbourne for a term in 2018 which she found inspiring and vital in the progression of her work. Since graduating Ella has been making work from her studio, at home in Yorkshire. Ella wants to showcase her work that she loves to make, while at the same time, raising money for a charity very special to her as she donated a percentage of her sales to Blood Cancer UK. Heartbreakingly, Ella lost her life to Leukaemia and prints of her original work are now being sold. When you buy a print of Ella’s original work, all proceeds go the the Ella Dawson Foundation, set up in Ella’s legacy to provide wellbeing support to help young adults live well with cancer.
